Accessibility Statement

Last reviewed: 29 July 2026

We want marycostellowriter.com to be usable by as many people as possible. Our accessibility target is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA.

Measures We Have Taken

The Site uses semantic page structure, keyboard-operable controls, visible focus styles, descriptive image text, responsive layouts and colour combinations tested for readable contrast. It supports browser zoom, narrow screens and reduced-motion preferences.

An optional accessibility preferences control is also available. It can enlarge text, increase contrast, reduce motion and underline links. These preferences supplement the accessible defaults and do not replace them.

How We Tested the Site

We carried out an internal review using automated and manual checks. These included Lighthouse, axe, HTML validation, keyboard-only navigation, focus-state review, heading and landmark checks, colour contrast, browser zoom, narrow-screen reflow and reduced-motion testing.

Current Status

The Site has been designed and tested against our WCAG 2.2 Level AA target. Automated checks cannot identify every accessibility issue, so we also review important interactions manually and welcome feedback from visitors.

Third-Party Websites

The Site links to publishers, booksellers, press organisations and other external websites. We do not control the accessibility of those third-party services.
